C1816 Brake Fault Code
C1816 brake fault code is a code that shows up on the dashboard of a car. It is usually displayed by the car's computer system to alert the driver about a problem with the braking system.
Meaning:
OBD-2 Protocol Meaning: Air Bag Crash Sensor #2 Feed/Return Circuit Short To Ground.
When the brake pedal is pressed, it activates a valve that releases hydraulic fluid to pressurize the braking system this means that if you are driving and need to stop, you will not be able to do so you need to check the brake pads and drums. It can be caused by a faulty brake booster, leaky brake fluid, or faulty master cylinder.
This can happen when a driver presses on the brake pedal too hard or too often, and it causes wear on the brake pads and rotors as well as heat build-up in them brake failure is a common problem. This may result in LOW BRAKE PEDAL error messages on your dashboard and should be addressed immediately by taking your car to a mechanic for inspection and repair.
C1816 Brake Fault Diagnosis :
If the brakes are not working properly, it can be dangerous to drive if this does not produce any results then it moves on to an inspection for tactile evidence such as excessive pedal travel or pedal pulsation when you push on the brake pedal, it forces fluid through this mechanism which then applies pressure to each wheel and causes them to slow down or stop completely. The problem with brakes is that they are not always easy to diagnose. If none of these things sound like they could be your problem, then it might be time to take your car into a shop and have them diagnose it for you.
